History and Organization

The society has been dealing with the promotion of the scientific field of toxicologic pathology (by annual scientific meetings and publication of the Journal of Toxicologic Pathology), the quality certification of trained toxicologic pathologists (by the board certification system; Diplomate of JSTP) and the continuous education as well as training of not only young fellows but also diplomates (by annual slide conferences and annual education seminars).

November 9,	1984	Establishment of the Organizing Committee to establish the Study Forum of Toxicologic Pathology
March 25,	1985	First Meeting of the Study Forum of Toxicologic Pathology
February 5,	1988	Renewal as the Japanese Society of Toxicologic Pathology (JSTP)
1992 -1993		Establishment of the Board Certification System for the Diplomate of the Japanese Society of Toxicologic Pathology: Nomination of the founding diplomats
July 15,	1994	Execution of the first board examination
